Against the regular lines of metal shelving, each object has room to reveal its character. The slender stem of a glass. The rounded body of a cup. A polished surface reflecting the room around it. Daylight moves across the shelves, drawing connections between objects made from different materials, by different means.

Repetition brings another way of seeing. Cups gathered in rows or balanced in stacks become a study of a single form. Beside them, mouth-blown glasses carry the small variations of their making. There is pleasure in both: the consistency of a repeated shape and the particular character of an individual piece.

A folded newspaper, a bottle of perfume, a few banknotes. These things suggest a life extending beyond the frame. They sit among our artefacts as possessions do, brought together through habit, usefulness and personal attachment. Over time, such arrangements become a portrait of the person who lives with them.

A stem of ivy reaches into the space above a vessel. A tulip bends towards the shelf. Candlelight finds its reflection in steel. Each introduces a different sense of time: a growing stem, a fading flower, a slowly shortening candle. The objects hold their place as the scene changes around them.

Our work begins with purpose, material and the possibilities of making. It continues in someone else’s hands, in the choice of what to fill, light, gather or leave empty. This lookbook pauses at that point of possibility, with objects waiting to become part of a day.
